This is a McHale "Alpiner" mountaineering backpack custom built in Seattle know for its high quality build and as an excellent load carrier. There are no holes or tears in this backpack. It has been washed and air dried after ever use and shows extremely well. The bypass straps allow for adjusting (while hiking) the amount of weight carried on your hip belt and shoulder straps depending if your hiking down or uphill. I don't think any other pack has this feature. As your internal gear volume decreases (your food supply) the pack can be shortened by removing the internal bayonets to accommodate short climbs or side trips. In addition, the top of the backpack detaches to become a hip pack for day trips. Asking $ 225.00. You pay shipping or pick up in Napa, Ca. Paypal is good.

FS: Burn, Prophet, Jam
So, I’m moving, and I’m cleaning out my closet. I’m sure that more will come but for now I’m selling some backpacks. (I bought a McHale, and that should last the rest of my life, so these are now redundant.)
MLD Burn, $50.
MLD Prophet with two waist-belt pockets, a lid, and two different shoulder strap pockets, $60.
GoLite Jam, circa mid-2000s, with an MLD wait belt pocket sewn on one waist belt and a patch of velcro on the other, either could be easily removed with a seam ripper, $25.
None have any visible damage, though the Jam does look dusty.
