The top of the rod handle peice got caught in a car door. Good thing the tip protector was in! I've torqued on it hard to test it's strength and been fishing it for the last year with no trouble.

Rota Lacura Clarkii Rod (11ft/~7:3), sheath/case (section of rod which the rod slides into works well)Rod w/ case 2.3oz, w/out 1.45oz. The rod telescopes into the Yana Poles and locks in place by twisting, like trekking pole, making it adjustable in length by about a foot. The rod itself is 8.5ft and with the Yanna 3 piece trekking pole it is about 11.5ft (fitting in the middle section) and the two piece is about 11ft by my measurments.
