I have modified the hood so that it seals around your face. it was a very easy modification - all i did was fold the lycra on the hood over itself and gave it a couple of stitches. You can easily take the stitches out if you do not like it and there will be no harm to the jacket. I found that this mod made a HUGE difference and actually put this jacket at the top of my list as far as warmth/weight. a lot of people say this is comparable to a montbell ul or ex light down jacket.
