I have an SMD Skyscape X tent and I’m interested in getting a cuben fiber footprint. I’m currently using a Tyvek footprint that is great, but at 4.2oz. its nearly 30% of the weight of the tent. However, the tent is so expensive, I’m not willing to go without a durable cover that can protect the tent from punctures. Anyone out there has some scrap cuben material, or even a torn tarp that they would be willing to part with at a reasonable price? Ideally the cuben fiber should be at least 1.0 ounce per square yard in weight. The Skyscape X has an elongated pentagon shaped footprint with max dimensions of 103 inches by 48 inches. Tears are OK as long as I can tape them up adequately.
