Ortovox X1 Avalanche Beacon
The Ortovox X1 is a hybrid avalanche beacon that combines the most positive aspects of digital and analog signal reception for fast and efficient searching. Namely, when you initiate your search, the beacon is in analog mode which has a superior range to digital, in this case 60m. Once you're within 10m of a signal, the beacon automatically switches to digital mode, locks on the signal, and has three bright direction arrows that tell you which way to move. This means you'll have a more direct search path and shorter search time. The strap is super comfortable and designed not to be lost.
