I used these pants once, and walked into a snow covered blackberry bush and snagged the fabric in a few places. I repaired the pin holes with McNett fabric tape and have never used the pants since. No loss of function at all, just purely cosmetic. Comes with Mtn. Hardwear Compressor pants stuff sack (never used).
