Experienced climber here, no scraping up a wall. I bought them to be a comfortable shoe and I fitted them a 1/2 size too big for me. I climbed maybe 3-5 pitches in them . These shoes have some chalk dust on them and very minimal signs of use on the rubber, essentially they are new.
