Howdy, it's cold! Pretty much anywhere in North America we're reaching record temperatures and windchill. We're all here on this forum because we love to go outside and brave the elements in our free time, but a lot of people are forced to live outdoors by a variety of factors. Simply put, they are in danger of freezing to death :(

  I haven't thought this out very far, but I'm wondering if we as the alpinist community can do some good by distributing our extra sleeping bags, jackets, gloves etc that could save people's lives. It could start simply by finding homeless neighbors were we live and sharing gear with them, but I'm open to ideas to try to start a trend or movement of giving back and helping the least fortunate survive difficult times. I'm eager to start this discussion!
