Cheap beginner stuff: Ice crampons $50, nuts $4/ea, ice boots 41,42, biners, sling
Located in Boulder and in ouray this weekend and weekend of the 30th
Buyer pays shipping but i have some fedex discount so it's cheap.
Grivel old school crampons $50
Pros:Cons:
- Cheap
- Street cred: "Woah i had those crampons in the 70s!" -- some guy in Ouray
- Weigh the same as new Petzl Lynx's (1017 grams)
- Seem to perform fine for beginners like me at least. Felt better than my partner's fancy new ones
- Comes with bag & extra toe bails
- Freshly sharpened
Salewa crows 42 $100
- Pain in the ass to adjust the size. Tools needed to adjust the size are: allen wrench, screwdriver, and wrench/vice/pliers for holding a hex nut in place.
- Not modular. Front point are not replaceable. No monopoint mode. No adjusting the point position
- No antisnow plates but I'm told you can make them out of milk cartons
- 3 season boots. Probably works for ice if you run warm
- Slightly too small for me (women's size 9 street shoes). About the same size as Nepals 41. (small for 42!!)
- Mint condition
- Angry cat not included
Women's nepal evo 41 $210
- Ok condition
- Way narrower than men's nepals
Nuts
Misc
- $4/ea except the offset (4th from right) is $7
- I assembled this complete set of nuts as a gift for my friend. Then it turned out he already bought his own nuts. Therefore, this still serves as a great complete set of nuts for someone starting trad. Except #6 and 7 from the left are identical to each other.
- No need to buy all, I can keep some for bail gear
- Cat not included
- biners that I don't like $3/ea
- double length sling $8. Bought new in 2021. I don't need it anymore because I bootied an identical sling. The one for sale is NOT the booty sling.
