I ordered this MLD Burn DCF in January, wanting a slightly lighter and smaller pack for summer backpacking versus my HMG 2400 Southwest.

I received it two weeks ago, and just yesterday had time to try a weighted fit test. I loaded the pack with some 5lb bags of rice to 10lb and 15lb, and threw in some clothing to fill volume. After walking around the house, making adjustments to fit, and comparing to my Southwest in the same test — I've decided the Burn isn't for me. It's not as comfortable to me loaded at 10lb or 15lb as my 2400 Southwest, so I'm going to keep using my Southwest for now. I'm 6'1" 175lb for reference. I’m disappointed because the build quality, weight, and other features of this pack are amazing.

The pack has not been modified (no cuts of anything). Since it’s brand new and unused, I’m selling the pack at the same price currently listed on MLD. That price is $307.00 with 2 MLD hip belt pockets. You'll have to buy the pack with the hip belt pockets, since I have no use for them myself nor want to sell them separately. I know I could return the pack to MLD since it's unused and within 15 days, but given their 8 week lead time I figure someone here may want one sooner with it being thru-hike season and all.

MLD provides a tube of Gear AId Fast Cure Seam Sealant for seam sealing the outside stitches on the pack, although I gather almost nobody does this unless you are hiking in some seriously rainy climate because the inside stitches are seam sealed and the pack is DCF. I’m including this bottle of sealant with shipping, but if you do not want it let me know as it will reduce shipping costs a bit on your behalf.

2017 Zpacks Duplex Spruce Green .74oz

I bought a Tarptent Aeon Li for a shelter that is lighter and smaller footprint, therefore I’m selling my Zpacks Duplex. I used this Zpacks Duplex on my 10-day 2017 JMT SOBO hike, as well as some 30 other backpacking nights. It's a fantastic shelter that I have zero complaints for. There are some DCF tape patches on the floor and one or two on the netting due to holes. DCF floor puncture very easily but are easily repaired with DCF tape. (I always used a polycro groundsheet)

Comes with 8 Zpacks Sonic 6” Sonic Stakes, Zpacks DCF stake bag, and Zpacks Duplex stuff sack.
