I love this tent and really don’t want to let it go, but my partner and I are attempting to make the switch to a freestanding shelter. The SS2 has been used for ~30 nights. I bought it from another member here in 2015 who had only set it up once to seam seal it. I swapped out the stock guylines with blue Lawson Glowire (2mm) to increase the length of the lines and add flexibility with staking points. The Glowire also holds better in the LineLocs, in my experience.

The tent remains in great condition and has a ton of life left in it. The only flaw to speak of are two tiny pinprick holes on the fly about half an inch apart. I patched the area up with a single, two-inch piece of tenacious tape, which has worked perfectly. It does not affect the tent’s performance at all – the tent has easily handled wind and rain on a few occasions, and we’ve been comfortable inside during those storms with the large vestibules and ample headroom. I tried to take a picture of the holes but they’re too small to even show up in the photo.

The tent weighs 41 oz on my scale (weight includes fly + mesh interior + upgraded guylines + stuff sack).
