ISO: Gear donations for a fundraiser!
Hey y'all!
Reel Rock 12 is being screened in Lake Placid by Mountain Lake Academy in an effort to raise money for our new high ropes course. We are a local not for profit residential school that provides educational, clinical and psychiatric services to our boys aged 12-21 from New York and Vermont. On top of these services we also provide a top notch wilderness program that helps our boys grow emotionally and hone their decision making skills. We introduce our boys to a variety of activities including climbing, hiking, canoeing, biking, back country skiing, snowshoeing and even take our boys on expeditions (the last one was a Maine climbing trip). Through the application of Kolb's experiential learning cycle our boys learn to trust themselves and others with extensive coaching from our staff members.
Currently, we are raising money to fund our new high ropes course. Our old course was washed out by Hurricane Irene and we are finally getting the opportunity to rebuild. We are raising money by screening Reel Rock 12 on March 24th at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. In addition to the screening, we will be raffling off gear donated by companies and individuals.
