After using pretty much all of the best synthetic jackets available I've come to the opinion that the Fall 2015 Arcteryx Nuclei AR is the best synthetic insulated jacket in the world. It's super light (16 oz) for its parka warmth and has the weather resistance (Windstopper + taped seams) to protect the insulation from water. I haven't been this excited about a piece of apparel since 2012. If you're going to carry a synthetic jacket this is the one you want.
