FS: McHale LBP 38 Backpack
I'm selling my McHale LBP (little big pack) 38 backpack that Dan built for me in 2012. It is in excellent condition; like new, really. It's everything you would expect from a McHale pack...comfort, craftsmanship, durability. My hiking trips are shorter now and I just don't need the volume this pack provides anymore. Dan built me a smaller Merkebeiner this past winter and that's what I'm using now.
Specs:
=> Frame size is 23 3/4". I'm sure you would be comfortable adjusting an inch or so either way. For a little perspective, I'm about 5'9", although that doesn't mean too much relative to a torso measurement. For comparison, I fit very well into medium size ULA and HMG packs.
=> The waist belt was built for my 34" waist, but there's plenty of room for flexibility to adjust (again, I take a medium size hip belt from ULA and HMG).
=> Includes the P&G bayonet system, allowing you to carry heavy loads. This system has been removed in the pics I've included, but I can put it back on for you. No need to use the system for loads of 35 pounds and below.
=> The pack weighs about 4.75 pounds, excluding the P&G system. There are opportunities to further reduce weight (remove hip belt pocket(s), compression straps, summit flap).
=> Includes the Kangaroo pocket which is made from Spectra material.
=> Single layer summit flap.
=> Large size water bottle holsters (Dyneema with full Spectra bottoms).
=> Pack material is dark gray Dyneema X-Grid (as is the summit flap)
=> Pack bottom/rim is full Spectra, light gray
=> Daisy chain along the back of the pack
=> Substantial hip belt pockets
I think I covered it all. I can also mail the instructional DVDs that Dan sent me which helps to understand the P&G bayonet system.
Price is $650 and I paid MUCH more than that. I will pay for shipping in CONUS. Paypal only (Friends & Family, or add 3%...your choice). I'm confident you'll find this is like buying a new pack from Dan given the condition it's in. Following are some photos. I can take more specific shots if we connect via email, and I'm happy to answer any questions you have. Please initially send me a PM and we can go from there.
