These poles are in excellent working condition and excellent cosmetic condition. The O rings are intact. The lower shafts function perfectly and stay in place when tightenened. However, one of the tips is missing. Gossamer Gear sells replacement tips, a set of 2 tips is $7.50 + shipping.

The online manual for LT4's states
Repair/Replacement
We now sell replacement parts and pole sections online. We also offer single poles for sale as well. Also, should your poles lock up you can send them to us and we will most likely rebuild them for you for the cost of parts and return shipping. We have made some changes to the expander mechanism over time and will upgrade any poles sent to us for the cost of parts and return shipping. Last, should you wear out your trekking pole tips they can be replaced but be aware that they are glued on and will need to be knocked off. The trekking pole tips ARE NOT threaded and trying to “unscrew” them with a pliers etc will cause the carbon fiber to fail. We will also put new tips on your LT4’s for the cost of parts and return shipping. Please send all pole repairs to:
Gossamer Gear

And be sure to include a note about what needs to be done, who you are and how to reach you.

The adjustable feature has numerous benefits: easier to travel on airlines; you can adjust height for use as tarp/tent poles; you can adjust length for trekking up hill vs longer length for downhills.

I bought these on Gear Swap in July 2012.

I have never used these poles hiking, except walked with them a few times around my mother's golf course condo complex in Florida.
I have 2 sets of Gossomer Gear trekking poles - LT3C (fixed length) and LT4's. I've decided to keep the LT3C's and sell the adjustable LT4's.
