Great for staking out an inner net tent. They work best in soft soil, not so great in sand or rocks. They are titanium but I would not recommend them as the only stakes you use to pitch a tent or tarp. That said, I have used them on a couple 2 week trips to pitch my hammock tarp and after putting a rock over them, I had no trouble.
