Salomon S/LAB XA Alpine 2 trail running/climbing shoes.  US Mens size 11.

These are hybrid trail running/approach shoes with an integrated gaiter.  Ideal for runs that incorporate some more technical scrambling and light mountaineering.  

The inner shoe is a trail running shoe.  It has some extra carbon in the midsole to stiffen it up a bit and provide some extra foot protection, although I didn't find it overly stiff.  The sole is Salomon's Contragrip.  It has a "climbing zone" similar to approach shoes for scrambling. It has a nice integrated gaiter for protection and extra water repellency.  6 mm heel-toe drop.

They are mens size 11.  I wear an 11 in most running shoes (Brooks, Hoka) and these fit true to size in my opinion.

They fit me fine, they just didn't work out for me.  

They've been used only once on a single 6 mile run.  I swear.  They are a little dusty but that's all.  They're in perfect shape otherwise.  They even still smell new.
