You probably know this already, but it requires two of your own hiking poles to pitch the tarp.

The tarp can be pitched without the bug net/bath tub in non buggy situations.  The tarp is big enough for three people, but the bug net is not.  I would recommend the inner net only for one large person or two small people.

Also, the bug net can be strung up in a shelter to keep bugs off without using the tarp, a very useful technique along the AT.
